The Story Behind Kith

Ronnie Fieg opened the first Kith store in Manhattan in 2011, turning a lifelong obsession with sneakers into a lifestyle brand named after the old English phrase for friends and family. Before that, Fieg had already made his name in footwear, working his way up from stock boy to buyer and eventually landing a collaboration with Asics that streetwear heads still talk about today.

What started as a small footwear boutique quickly grew into a full apparel line, then into fashion shows, restaurants and even Kith Treats, the brand's own take on cereal inspired ice cream. Along the way, Kith built one of the most respected collaboration rosters in streetwear, working with names like Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Coca-Cola and Bape.

Iconic Kith Pieces

Kith's collections move fast, but a few pieces have earned lasting status among collectors:

  • Kith Classic Hoodies and Crewnecks: Heavyweight, minimal, and instantly recognisable by the box logo
  • Kith x Asics Collaborations: Ronnie Fieg's colourway work with Asics remains some of the most sought after in sneaker culture
  • Kith x New Balance and Kith x Nike Drops: Limited runs that sell out within minutes and hold their value long after
  • Kith Treats Merchandise: Playful, nostalgic pieces that capture the brand's personal, storytelling driven approach

2nd Culture's Kith Curation

Kith moves at a pace few brands can match, which makes sourcing the right pieces a genuine skill. Our team hunts down Kith hoodies, tees and collaboration pieces that are already becoming hard to find elsewhere in the Netherlands, then checks every detail before it reaches the shop floor. That is what curated means to us: nothing lands in the collection without being handpicked and authenticated first.

How to Style Kith

Layer a Kith crewneck under a heavyweight Nike shell, add straight leg denim and a pair of Kith x Asics Gel-Lyte sneakers, and you have a look that reads New York without trying too hard. For a cleaner take, let a Kith Treats tee do the talking with tapered trousers and low profile New Balance trainers. If you love the Nike collaborations, our Nike collection is worth a browse too, and fans of Kith's playful streetwear energy tend to gravitate toward our Bape collection as well.

Kith Sizing

Kith apparel generally runs true to US sizing, which tends to fit slightly larger than European standards. We recommend sizing down for a closer fit on hoodies and tees, and always checking measurements before ordering online, especially on older or archive pieces where cuts can vary.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I buy Kith clothing in Amsterdam?

2nd Culture stocks a curated rotation of Kith clothing in our Amsterdam store and online. Since every piece is handpicked, the selection changes often, so it is worth checking back or visiting in person.

Is Kith streetwear or luxury?

Kith sits somewhere between the two. It started as a streetwear and sneaker retailer but has grown into a lifestyle brand with fashion week shows and high end collaborations, while keeping its roots in New York streetwear culture.

How do I know if my Kith piece is authentic?

Look closely at the stitching, label details and the quality of the box logo print. If you are ever unsure, our team is happy to help, and our authenticity check service is built exactly for this.

Why is Kith clothing so expensive?

A lot of it comes down to how Ronnie Fieg runs the brand. Kith drops new product almost every Monday, in quantities small enough that most pieces sell out before the week is out. Add in fabrics that feel noticeably heavier and better finished than typical streetwear, plus collaborations with names like Nike and Asics that never come back once they're gone, and prices climb fast once a piece leaves the shop floor.

Visit our store in Amsterdam to see the current Kith selection in person, or browse the collection online. Our team is always happy to talk through fit, authenticity or which piece is worth chasing next.
